Lead UI Designer

Do you have a passion for creating beautiful, well-designed, easy to use websites? Are you inspired by really good user centered design? If so, we have the perfect job for you! We are looking for a UI Designer who will create and own the look and feel of the Lumosity website.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the front-end developers and product managers to create a highly polished visual experience.
  • Apply a user centered approach to visual design problems.
  • Visually refine the Lumosity brand and the Lumosity look and feel across all platforms.
  • Work in an agile environment taking stories from product specs to wireframes, interaction design, and/or polished visual mockups.
  • Design and produce visual assets for both web and mobile applications.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years experience creating high production value websites and applications
  • Strong visual design sense with clean typography, page and web layout
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience with Flash a huge plus
  • Experience with Rails a huge plus
  • Outstanding portfolio of solid, imaginative work
  • BS/BFA, any discipline

Senior Rails Developer

Are you a skilled web developer with a love of clean code and strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming? If so, we have a position for you at Lumos Labs -- makers of Lumosity.com, currently ranked as the #34 most popular rails site (measured by Alexa traffic ranking). Lumos Labs is looking for a web developer with experience in Ruby on Rails to be an important part of a cross-functional team dedicated to building the best product out there.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop a test-driven scalable application in an Agile environment.
  • Drive new feature releases from beginning to end: user-interview, story, test-writing/development and release.
  • Mentor junior developers.
  • Provide thoughtful input at all stages of product development.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of web application programming
  • 1+ years of experience programming Ruby on Rails

Product Designer

Are you passionate about great features, clean interfaces and an awesome user experience? Do you constantly strive to simplify your user interfaces? Do you have a love for gaming and data? If so, this could be your dream job! We are looking for a Product Designer who will create a spectacular experience with clearly defined value for our users.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate product specifications into wireframes to create a fun user experience
  • Work with the product team, designers and engineers to create a highly usable and visually appealing product
  • Involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from concept to launch
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of strong interaction design background
  • Proven experience with quick prototyping/wireframing
  • Awesome at usability and design
  • Comfortable at doing qualitative and quantitative research
  • Highly creative thinker, with strong problem-solving and product sensibilities

ActionScript Programmer

Responsibilities:
  • Architecting and building unique next generation Flash application clients
  • Work closely with a back-end engineering team to take concept and mock-ups to production ready code

Qualifications:

  • Work closely with game designers, artists and engineering team to ensure that new games fit into our brain training program
Qualifications:
  • Expert Flash/ActionScript programmer
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a keen game design sense
